Moving-up recognition day of my son (Mar 25, 2013)

Another year has passed in my son's golden years and I'm proud to say
that he was able to hurdle all the challenges in Grade 1 level as he finishes off
with an Academic Achiever award.

Aside studying and doing his assignments on his own, he actively participated
in all their school's events.  He was also into sports where he garnered
3rd place in the SMART Taekwondo National Competition last August
and their blue team in basketball won also during their Family Olympics.

He got 3rd place on their story telling contest on their English-Math-Science
Literacy Month and was also one of the representatives to the MTAP
competition last January.

This is the 2nd year which he was selected to perform in their Doxology and
he really performed very well.

Another performance from the Grade 1 pupils.

And this is Marty on his self-introduction - To be the youngest and best engineer
in the field of Robotics.

And these are the proud parents who work hard to give Marty the best
education they can give.

Eastwood City - One gloomy Saturday(Mar 23, 2013)

One gloomy Saturday of March, The Family decided to spend the
weekend bonding in Eastwood City.

My son striking a pose...

With the Easter Eggs for the upcoming Easter Egg Hunt activity...

After a stroll in the complex, The Family enjoyed the lunch @ Crisostomo -
Turn of the Century Filipino Cuisine.

As usual my son ordered his favorite mango shake.

Have been noticing lately that my son has a great appetite for great food.

The Bagumbayan Lechon(kawali) and the Tarsillo Squid Al Jillo which my son
liked very much.

My husband enjoyed his Sisig Lengua.

Very happy for his new Lego set to add to his collection.

To complete the day, we tried the Caffe Bene - the largest coffee chain
in Korea now in Eastwood.  Lots of Korean.  Ambiance is cool and
perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee.

I had my caramel machiato, cappucino for my husband with the Blueberry waffle
and Cheese Honey Bread.

My son is so excited to assemble his new lego toy.

Tagaytay-Summit Ridge Hotel weekend(Feb 2-3, 2013)

After viewing(for the 2nd time) the breathtaking, wide and serene scenery of the
Taal Volcano & Lake in the Picnic Grove with my cousin from Canada,
The Family headed to Summit Ridge Hotel for a windy and cold accommodation.

We got 2 connecting rooms for PHP6900++ each.  It is very spacious, clean with
1 queen-size bed, and a sofa where my son slept + all the basic accommodation needs.

The pool view from our hotel floor.

Wide area where old and kids can enjoy playing or just rest and enjoy the
cold wind with the nice view of the high buildings at the back.

In the swimming pool. Despite the coldness of the air and water, my son enjoyed it.

What is good about staying in Summit Ridge Hotel is that an array of
restaurants and food stalls awaits you @ Summit Ridge Promenade in
just few steps - Giligan’s restaurant, The Sizzling Pepper Steak, and Ted’s La Paz
Batchoy to name a few where we had our dinner.

There is the Robinsons Supermarket, arcade for the kids, bargain stuff
outside and live acoustic bands at the center of the open area to entertain
your dining and shopping pleasures.

The Family spent buffet breakfast at Annie’s C2 at the ground floor of  the hotel.
Breakfast just comprise the basics + the view of the spacious greeny area outside.

The yummy corned beef sinigang as soup which my son really loved.

After the breakfast, The Family headed to The Cliff for another view of
the Taal Volcano and Lake.

18th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Feista(Feb. 21-24, 2013)

18th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Feista 2013 - It was really a weekend
of everything that flies!!! The festival ran from Feb. 21-24 at the Omni Aviation
Complex inside Clark Economic Zone, Pampanga.

This is The Family's first time to this amazing event and as not to miss the
early morning Hot Air Balloon Flight show(6:30-8:00AM), we had an
overnight stay in Oxford Hotel, Clark.

Tickets were sold at PHP250.00 each at the event. Luckily, we got ours
with 30% discount from Fontana Resort with membership discount.

Shots from the last day(Feb 24) of the festival.

Witnessed the Paragliding Exhibition...

My son enjoyed kite flying too with his Angry Bird kite from his Tita Jec.

Since my son is already tired from the early morning rising-up and kite
flying, we went back to the hotel after the paragliding exhibition.

The Family will surely come back to this event next year to witness more
of the exciting shows.

Malaysia - Genting Highlands(Jan. 25-27, 2013)

The Family just had a short, hectic but wonderful weekend vacay in Malaysia
last Jan. 25-27.

Happy to disclose that we got our airfare on sale and our pre-paid 3D2N
accommodation at First World Hotel, Genting Highlands for 2,500PHP only
inclusive of 2 breakfast buffet + 1 dinner buffet. What a very cheap vacation
right?

Despite our CebPac flight to Malaysia was delayed by 3 hours due to their
technical reasons, we were all up to see Malaysia at midnight.

Though we have not arranged our airport-hotel transfer, different transport to
places in KL are available in the arrival area. Since we arrived at KL LCCT
around 10PM+, we just hired 1 van for the 7 of us going to Genting Highlands
for 450RM.

That almost-midnight trip to Genting Highlands for 1hr and 45 minutes was
breathtaking due to the darkness and the thick fog that covered the area.
What we can only see are the van's front lights following the neon-lighted
road signs. Thank God that our driver was very careful.

Checking-in at the First World Hotel was a swift which made us rest immediately
after the long time of waiting and travel. At 1 in the morning, several food and
coffee shops are still open and of course the casino known as the Las Vegas of
Malaysia - the only place where gambling is not prohibited.

The Family was sooooo excited in the morning to experience the Indoor and
Outdoor Theme parks of the resort. We had our buffet breakfast first in the hotel's
cafe and rushly headed to the theme parks.  I got the unlimited rides for both the
indoor and outdoor theme parks for my son for 49RM and I got mine for 70RM.
Just imagine how tired I was after experiencing most of those rides.

And here is the map of the Theme parks...

@ the Indoor Theme Park...

@ the Outdoor Theme Park...

The stores and fantastic views around...

My son insisted to swim in the Rain Forest Splash Pool and he really enjoyed
it despite the coldness around.  We ended the day with our free dinner buffet
@ the hotel's cafe.

On our third and last day, we left the hotel at around  9AM for Kuala Lumpur's
skyscraper - Petronas Twin Towers.

From the First World Hotel, we rode a taxi for 100RM going to the Skyway
cable car ride station from the Highlands Hotel to Gohtong Jaya station.

We enjoyed the  breathtaking views of the highlands through skycable ride for
6RM per person. They say its the fastest cable car ride over a 3.38KM.  Since
we were 7, we occuppied one cable car. Compared to the cable cars of the
Ocean Park and Ngong Ping 360 in HK, I was relaxed here though its quite
fast. I think it was only less than 10-minute ride.

Got this framed photo for 50RM as a souvenir.
